Specifika reprodukce koní
Maňasová, Michaela
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of specifics in the breeding and reproduction of horses. The theoretical part firstly describes genital organs of mares as well as stallions and the differences from other species of livestock. Next the thesis characterizes mare’s sexual cycle and methods of horse reproduction regarding their advantages and disadvantages. The next section of the theoretical part gives attention to specifics of the whole reproductive cycle and its comparison to other livestock. And the final part of the theoretical part provides the options for affecting the mare’s sexual cycle. The practical part covers the evaluation of reproductive traits of horse breeding in Hřebčín Vlachovice between 2015 – 2018 period. During these reproduction seasons, there were two stallions – Age of Jape and Ray of Light. It is looked on indicators as the amount of covered and pregnant broodmares, fertility of stallions, effectivity of mare’s getting pregnant or mare’s ability to get pregnant after having a foal. As the last but not least factor watched in the thesis is using hormonal products at mares.
Faktory ovlivňující vnější projevy říje a zabřezávání klisen
HOUŠKOVÁ, Zuzana
The aim of the work was to process facts from Czech and foreign sources about the reproduction of mares. On the basis of the information given in literary sources, monitoring was carried out including monitoring the manifestations and course of estrus, selected characteristics of mares such as BCS, age, current use of individual mares or possible hormonal stimulation. 62 mares in the age range from 3 to 24 years were included in the monitoring. The monitored mares were of various breeds, mares with a sports or hobby career were included, but also mares whose use was primarily for breeding. The aim of this work was to assess the influence of individual selected factors on the subsequent pregnancy of mares and to assess the most suitable combination of characteristics and manifestations of estrus in mares.
Hodnocení plodnosti hřebců a klisen v podmínkách přirozené plemenitby
ZOUBKOVÁ, Lucie
The bachelor's thesis "The Evaluation of fertility in natural service stallions and mares" focuses on the fertility of natural service stallions and mares and the results of breeding thoroughbred horses in the reference period. It analyses all forms of natural service that can be used in the horse breeding, the reproduction of wild horses, advantages and disadvantages of this method and its use in the Czech Republic. The study describes sexual behaviour of horses that is supressed by the modern methods of reproduction, unlike natural service.
Dostupnost chladnokrevných hřebců pro zapouštění klisen v přirozené plemenitbě
BALOUŠKOVÁ, Lidmila
The diploma thesis deals with the availability of cold blood stallions for mating with mares in natural breeding. There are currently three breeds of cold blood horses in the Czech Republic. It is a Noriker horse, a Silesian horse and a Czech-Moravian Belgian horse. In 2020, the total number of horses in the Czech Republic was 92 172, of which 1 352 were Noric horse, 1 365 Silesian horse and 1 971 Czech-Moravian Belgian horse. A total of 132 cold blooded stallions and 532 cold blooded mares were included in the monitoring, which were reproductive active between 2017-2019. In stallions, the age structure, the development of basic body dimensions, the proportion of original genes, the level of performance achieved and the location of the stallion, i.e., the breeding station were monitored. In the case of cold blood mares, the location of the mare was monitored, which was important for determining the distance to the selected stallion. Finally, an economic evaluation was performed
Úspěšnost inseminace klisen ve vztahu k době ovulace
VACEK, David
Mare rate of conception is influenced by many factors. Apart from the impact of the mare and the stallion, the breeder also represents one of these factors. The aim of this master's thesis is to assess the impact of the insemination dose storage, the period between the insemination and ovulation and the mare's age on the actual conception. The results are based on the assessment of forty-nine Czech Warmblood mares from the farms of Újezd and Zduchovice. Their conception rate was monitored throughout the years 2019 and the assessed affecting factors include the kind of semen storage (frozen or fresh chilled semen), the mare's age and the period between ovulation and insemination. The initial assumption that the sort of semen storage (p-value > 0.05) influences the rate of conception has been disproven because the conception rate for frozen semen was 52 % and it increased only by 6 %, amounting to 58 % in total for fresh chilled semen. As far as the age factor is concerned, there was almost no difference (p-value > 0.05) in the ages of gravid and non-gravid mares that were supposed to conceive during their first rut. The average age of pregnant mares is 10 (n = 19), therefore only one year more in comparison with non-pregnant mares (9 year, n = 30). The influence of the period between the insemination and the ovulation on the conception rate has not been proven either. While being monitored, no period between the insemination and ovulation exceeded the recommended length. In conclusion, the breeder can lessen the impact of harmful factors on the conception rate, for example the mare's age, the period between insemination and ovulation and the kind of semen storage.
Performance tests of cold-blooded horses and their evaluation
PÁTEK, Ladislav
Performance tests are necessary to determine the performance and individual character traits of the horse, which are needed for inclusion in breeding. The aim of the diploma thesis was to assess the performance tests and the method of evaluation. At first, the thesis compares the system and evaluation of tests of cold-blooded horses in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries. The following section compares the performance requirements for stallions and mares. Then there was compared the performance of different breeds. The following part deals with determining, how the year of performance tests affected the evaluation of individual disciplines. The last part of the thesis deals with observing the influence of the breed on evaluation of individual disciplines.
Development and current state of Haflinger breed in the Czech Republic
PATEROVÁ, Šárka
This thesis deals with the current state of Haflinger breeding in the Czech Republic. The number of these horses has steadily risen in the last years and the number of horses ranked among the most important gene lines in the world has risen as well. At the same time the breed found use in other areas than the original agricultural one. The thesis also briefly deals with the world's superpowers in the Haflinger breed, and their significant expansion in the world. The aim of the thesis was to map the current state of stud horses in the Czech Republic. As an overview, an analysis has been made of the current breeding population, comparing the data of the stallions bred in the Czech Republic that are currently enrolled to breed with the mares included in the Main Stud Book. In the conclusion, all the aforementioned differencies are rated and discussed.
Current requirements to exteriors warm-blooded mares
SMOLÍKOVÁ, Alena
This thesis deals with the current requirements on building exteriors warm-blooded mares. Correct and objective assessment of the exterior shape of mares is one of the most important criteria for the classification of mares in the Stud Book. The quality of exterior features formation is the requirement according to which we assume the horses can be used for other classic sport disciplines they are currently breeding for. Regarding to this matter the target of this work was the evaluation and specification of the differences mentioned in the processed preview as for the requirements on shaping the exterior of mares bred in Czech Republic and mainly mares bred in Germany. In conclusion, all above mentioned differences are assessed.
Evaluation of the system of mare performance tests
CIVIŠOVÁ, Hana
This thesis is dealing with evaluation of a Czech Warmblood mare performance test system. Mare performance tests have become an important measure in the Czech Warmblood breed and most newly registered mares undergo them. The mare performance test does not only indicate the mare{\crq}s own disposition but it is also a valuable source of information on the sires of the mares taking part. The main reason for mare performance testing is to obtain a performance record to use as a tool in making breeding decisions. Within the tests the best sire of the mares are evaluated. This thesis examines the system of mare performance tests and compares it with systems of organizing mare performance tests in other European countries. In the conclusion all the achieved results are assessed and discussed.
Life symptoms of stallions and mares
KOREŠOVÁ, Michaela
The farm, where I have watched ethological behaviour, is next to CHKO Blanský les, near the small town Lhenice. The farm is engaged in breeding of horses. The basic herd is created with warm-blooded mares of Netolice´s breeding. The aim of ethological watching was to recognize basic symptoms of behaviour of horses in their natural conditions during pasture season. These symptoms were watched in the herd of 20 mares (barren, advanced stage of pregnancy and mares with foals) and in the one of 9 stallions and 2 geldings. Everything was conducted during four of 24-hours cycles during pasture season 2008 inside each of the herds. It was recognized, that horses most of their time were accepting their fodder. The time of feeding depended on quality of the pasture fodder and at the temperature of the air. Mares spent the longest time with feeding. It was 63.84 % of the day. The stallions spent with feeding 58.90 % of the day. At the end of their pasture season in September, but it is quite normal, because the quality of pasture is during the second part of pasture season much worse. The rest, as laying and standing depended on the time, that was needed for satisfying with pasture. The longest time for have a rest was watched during the month of Juni {--} 42.50 % of the day and 46.47 % of the day during August, when the parture was the richest and temperature the highest. Moving activity was much better inside the stallion´s herd. The conflict behaviour was the same inside the both of herds and aggressive behaviour was watched during the social fighting for relationships inside both of herds.
